Hi,
I have a question regarding the particle effects. I know how to use the particle effects, but I have my own PNG picture that I want to use as the particle.
Let me clarify. When using the particle effects I know it usually emits a sort of glowing ball. I want to replace the ball with a picture of a star so it will emit the star. Anyone knows how to do this? I don’t see a setting in the particle inspector to change the picture or image of the particle.
Thanks.
Look through the manual for Particle System modules, specifically the section on the Render Module. But basically, you’ll want to create a new Material that uses an appropriate Particle shader (Shader → Particles → CHOOSE_ONE), and set your PNG as the texture for that material. Then assign that material to the Material field in the Render Module of your Particle System.
Did you look to the video tutorials inside the learning section?
In the search field type Particle System and then select “Learn”.
For example, the first options is this link and at 1:03:00 you will find how to change it.
Importing a PNG or other image it can be done in 2 ways. As a texture or as a sprite.
