Question about movie textures

I wish to play panoramic movies on cylinders within Unity. If I create a plane I can apply the movie texture, issue a “play” and all is fine.

I have a cylinder (created in 3dStudio Max), if I apply a single image to that cylinder it behaves/appears as expected indicating that the texture coordinates are fine. However when I apply the movie texture to it, it is hugely stretched vertically (actually not sure of this but something is extremely wrong). Ideas? Seems like a texture coordinate difference perhaps between image textures and movie textures?

Might be related to the default UV mapping on Max objects… have you tried with Unity’s Cylinder primitive? (though not sure what the UVs are there either)

Hmm, can you post pictures of it with 2D Texture and with Movie texture?
(CMD-SHIFT-4 lets you drag a region using the mouse to quickly take a picture of that region and save it to your desktop)
