Question about new animation editor/timeline

Hi I have a little question about the new animation timeline which Nicolas was talking about in april and which is currently scheduled for 2.6

Does that mean that we can then import a character with bones but without animation in unity and then have the animations programmed using that animation editor ?

Yes, this will be possible. Will it be as robust as a dedicated 3D modeling/animation package? Probably not in its first iteration.

It certainly sounds cool.

I’m not that good at modeling, but it would mean that we could import a rigged character and create extra animation inside unity3d itself.

Quite usefull for example if the model must interact with other objects in the 3D scene.

You can also duplicate and modify existing animations too… the bits I have seen of it so far have been awesome!

Huh ? you work for unity3d now too ?

Cool, looks like UT is hiring a lot of oldtimers nowadays to be part of the staff. Coolness

“Old timers” hehe I’m only 26 man!
