I’m making a (3D) game that looks like a shooter and I have questions about my character animation.
We must be able to move our character whether he has a weapon or not and according to each type of weapon (ranged or melee).
We need to be able to get our character to aim where he is looking. The animation must therefore adapt according to where the character is looking at the target.
How will you do that? What will you be using?
For example I think you have to use the Animation Rigging package to manage aiming. And to do the animation transitions, how do you manage that? Multiple Animation controllers? Several avatar masks? Describe your feature process.
Animation rigging is how you would do this, so no they did not midunderstand. I suggest you look up some tutorials on how it works. The rest is all self explanatory, its very basic IK aiming all which is shown by multiple tutorials. Did you google this first?
There are plenty of tutorials out there, nobody is going to handhold every step of the way what to do - watch some then come back to the problem explaining what you have tried and what didnt work, and what specifically you need help with.
Alright, so what have you tried so far and what was the problem with it? Have you actually given this a go yet? If not, I suggest doing that and then come back ,rather than making speculative questions about things before you know how they work / if they work for your use case.
I dont think anybody is going to handhold you to that level here, all of our time is precious. There are tutorials for a reason, I suggest actually putting in the minimum effort and trying some first and then come back when you have something specific to ask. One such tutorial has literally been posted for you here, so what else is there to do except actually follow it?
Everything you are asking is covered in 100s of tutorials, so follow the rules and put the minimum effort in and at least attempt something yourself first. Asking for $200k in funding but not being able to figure this out is a serious red flag by the way.
As you can see there is even ample information on the blog on this very website. Google is your friend, best to use it first before posting very generic questions that have already been answered countless times.
