Question of models 3d license

Hi, I have a question of models 3d license.

I want to make 3d game, commercial project. I use 3d model from internet.
Examples:

Can I do that? I live in Vietnam, so, I’m not clear about license.
Sorry for my bad english.

Thank you very much!!!

If it says “royalty free” and “commercial use”, that should mean you can use them in your project, but if you are still not sure maybe contact the website and ask them about the licenses? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you :x, other question:
Website: http://opengameart.org/art-search?keys=gun
What license I can use? I read common creative, I can use CC-BY 3.0, CC-BY-SA 3.0 and CC0
, But, I dont understand GPL 3.0, GPL 2.0, OGA-BY 3.0, LGPL 3.0, LGPL 2.1.

You can use it commercially however some developers would like you to at least mention their names in your game credits. So yes, you can use it for your projects but some developers have personal requests so you should look for those.

Thank you very much

Just be careful, a lot of those sites don’t carefully monitor uploaded content. Regardless of the licenses they state, if the model was uploaded without permission or rights, you can still be held responsible or at least be required to remove it.

Just looked at a couple of those sites, they have a lot of infringing content.

http://www.top3d.net/3d-models/characters/aliens/jar-jar-binks-star-wars.html

http://www.3dxtras.com/3dxtras-free-3d-models-details.asp?prodid=8690

I would avoid those sites completely.

Thank you,
It’s really difficult to know website tenor. Can you suggest some website which you think prestige and may be used in any commercial way only as a part of artwork or project?
http://www.cadnav.com/3d-models => is it ok? License in rar file when I downloaded models.
Thank for your help.

turbosquid.com I believe is generally pretty safe.

Turbosquid is also a site I stay away from, as well, though. The quality is super hit-and-miss and you need a rally good knowledge of what to look at if you want to be sure if things work for realtime or not.
Turbosquid is also in way too many cases heavily overpriced.

I’d rather use Unity’s Asset Store as the policy is absolutely clear: You buy it you can use it an as many Unity projects as you like. Royalty free.

Then there’s also private sites from people on this forum selling on the asset store. Arteria3D or Bitgem for example - but there are many more I can’t remember right now. They also provide legal assets that will work with Unity.
And for “custom” characters there’s also Adobe (/Mixamo) Fuse.

For just a prototype it doesn’t matter what’s in there as long as nobody sees it. But as soon as anything is released into the public it better be free from any copyright material that isn’t 100% cleared.

Thank you., but model in this site is expensive,, one bird model equals my salary in a month. I hope free or cheap sourse.

Thank you. It help me a lot.

Unity’s Asset Store is good. But, I think, we can use model from other 3d tool (3dsmax, blender … ), they are thriving, long time, and some of them free.

Check out blendswap.com
Everything is under one of the CC licences, and free. It’s not all game ready but there is a lot of great stuff there.
