question on best way to store sales

im trying sell pre order of my game im building and im getting a few requests for sales and wondering what is the best way to store the sales
eg
it saves a spreadsheet or something of there email, etc

or would it just be better to save each paypal payment somewhere and a text file containing a copy of there email and name so when game ready i can deliver in order.

does anyone know the best way to set up the pre-order

Storing the sales in PayPal works, but I would certainly download all of the information and print it out to hard copy (trust me, hard drive crash or PayPal glitching (again) will lead to lots of angry customers).

You may also want to look in to Kickstarter, which is a way for people to fund and contribute money to your project before your project is ready. A number of games have started life that way and I have contemplated doing something similar myself.

i have a indiegogo account going (kickstarter substitute for non us banks) and sounds good ill try keep paypal copy’s and do you know how i go about creating a file or something that can create accounts that link with my database and also something create a random code that links to say they brought the game (like the serial code on Cd’s) so they cant play without a activated account/non activated accounts have limit
