Question regarding the free license

Hi,

I don’t know where to post this question, so I put it here. If it’s not appropriate, my apologies.

I recently just got a new Android phone, and I’d like to program some casual games, for my own entertainment and for free release. I read thru the license, it says that the free edition may not be licensed to commercial entity with annual revenue over US$100K.

I just want to get a confirmation that, does this mean that I can use the free edition to publish my free game if I don’t earn any money (or if I earn less than US$100K from the games in the latest fiscal year), then I don’t have to pay for a license? Do I understand that correctly?

Well, if I earn money from my games (which I don’t expect to, at this point), I’d pay for a license anyway. I’m not a game programmer, I make my living programming server applications, so this is just for fun.

In any way, if I think what I understand is correct, I’d like to applaud you guys to make the licensing so liberal. This is cool. Now if only I could get a version on Linux … :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes and no.

Yes, you can make awesome free games!

No… as far as I know you need to fork out at least $400 to get the ‘android’ add on that allows you to publish android games :frowning: ($3k for pro).

I see. The definition of “free” has changed quite a bit since the last time I got out of my basement.

Bye.
