Questions about switching between Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality

Unity provides 2 distinct workflows timonweide-sap In this thread @timonweide-sap successfully got Unity working as a library. I assume this would allow you to have a mixed reality swift app that can then launch your Unity VR app. Is this a workflow that is intended to be supported in the future?

Is there any intention of allowing PolySpatial apps to be able to switch to the Metal VR workflow at runtime in the future. I saw it was discussed in this thread https://discussions.unity.com/t/switching-between-mixed-and-virtual-reality-while-playing/294323/6
