Quick Multiplayer sound question

Hi. I’m not looking for a solution but curious to know if it is possible in Unity.

Can you make a sound attached to your game character, only audible to another player in a network game, and not hear it yourself?



Yes, but you need to make it attached to the other player. In a 2-player game, there is going to be a my player object, which you control directly, and a their player object, which is controlled by received network data. The game has to be able to tell the two kinds of player apart. You don’t play your own sound clip, you send a message to the other player’s game telling their other-player object (their representation of you) to play its sound clip, & vice versa.
