Quick question about Skinned Meshes...

On the full version of Unity (as in NOT the iOS or Android versions), how many skinned meshes with a maximum of 4 bones would I be able to handle before running into problems? I realise this is a big question without a target platform, but let’s say a 2.0GHz Apple Macbook (the cheapo white one)?

  1. Or 1400. Depends on your vertex count, how many of the objects have to be on screen at once and how much other CPU intensive stuff has to happen as well. And what you consider to be a problem. You’ll really just have to try it and find out.
