Race The Sun (Kickstarter)

Hey all, we recently launched Kickstarter for our Unity game, Race The Sun:

The campaign page does a pretty good job of explaining the mechanics and goals.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Also, I’ll be live-streaming development on Monday, using our in-game mod tools to create an entirely new type of game mode.

Wow, this looks fantastic, I’ll be watching this closely guys

if you read the terms it says no kickstarter links

impresive>>
I was not either aware of kickstaster link bann>

yea it says up at the top of the wip section

I personally have seen many Kickstarter links but the difference between them and this is that they were later in the thread or the development of a game. It was a legit WIP game, not finished, showing progress, but they had Kickstarter links while developing to help continue the project. Actually documenting the development. Not sure what the specifics are but there seems to be grey area when it comes to links. Hopefully a mod can clear it up for us here.

Ugh, apologies if I broke the forum rules :frowning:

I really dig the art style, reminds me of the first starfox; and the concept is new and refreshing, I think you’ll be successful.

One thing that kind of irked me though is that it seems the spaceship can only tilt left or right, if I were to play this I would want more control of the ship-- more moves or just something to make it less of a left/right challenge like those temple run games

Hey, thanks for the feedback! StarFox Snes is a big inspiration to me and Forest.

It’s true about the controls, we’re limiting it to left, right and “activate” which will be context sensitive depending on the powerup you’re holding (one of them will let you jump, for instance.)

We kept the controls intentionally simple so we could make it an easy experience to jump into - and also so we could port easily to just about any platform without the control options feeling tacked on.
