Race With Words - Gameplay video
From the video it looks great. I love the animation and overall graphic feel.
The following is a critique based only on my opinion:
-
Gameplay is simple enough, which makes it important to get good feedback on successful/failed word combinations. I felt the speed boost you get for a successful word is too little, and the overall speed of characters is too slow. Since these are cartoons you can get away with much higher speeds ( think road runner style, with dust and boost effects ).
-
On the other hand it was a little awkward to fully stop when failing. It sort of blocks the gameplay flow. Instead you can slow the player down by a multiplier ( half speed, 1/3 speed, but not 0 speed ) and make funny stumbling animations based on your current speed. EX: If you run very fast and fail, the animation shows you rolling on the floor for a while with dust all around, If you fail on a lower speed you just stumble forward a little on then balance yourself and keep running.
-
More characters: since you have a rabbit in there you really need a turtle so that players can finally answer the age old question of who’s faster

This game can lend itself well to many different things, not only words, but also Math, Trivia, etc. You can have a whole “universe” of similar games based on this same concept.
Overall good effort, congratulations on getting a product to the market!
Thanks you very much for your valuable inputs for your time!
