Hey guys,
Our game features a radar (updated from a script by PsychicParrot), which we wanted to make available to anyone else who might need it.
The radar can track enemies (or any other object) by tag, displaying them on a radar screen. We have updated it to be easily moveable to any part of the screen, made it easy to change the size of the radar, and also made it so that the radar can display the state of the enemies it is tracking (displaying them in on of two different colors based on their state).
Yeah, since I’m fairly new to Unity the stuff that the community has put up here, along with the example scenes and tutorials, have been extremely important. Without people putting their scripts and work up I likely wouldn’t have made it this far, so I figured that I should try to contribute what I could. And thanks for sharing the original radar script to begin with.
Also, sorry about the name mix-up, despite seeing the correct name dozens of times during the process of putting the radar script up, I still thought your name was PsychoParrot.
Dude, no, it’s all good. Seriously, my name in Call of Duty is PsychoParrot … I also tend to use that name whenever the character limit doesn’t allow the extra char in Psychic (which surprisingly happens a lot!).
Anyways, your game rocks and you share code … that’s 1 billion karma points already from this community
No, although I did notice the similarities when I saw it. In addition to being an FPS, our game is different in a lot of our focuses such as online an leaderboard and weapon upgrades/unlocks( not added in latest build).
I do like his game, though, it’s pretty fun.
Hey! This script looks ideal, but I can’t get it working. No errors or anything, and the radarBG displays correctly, but there are no blips D=
Any idea why? Everything’s set up like in the example package, but it just won’t draw the blips (either that, or it draws them and they aren’t visible)…
does this have something to do with me naming my ‘player’ as First Person Controller? I’ve tried changing the code to reflect the name change but no results so far.
