Ragdoll Fun

This is a little game I made in about a weekend. It’s been done for a while, but I’m only getting around to posting it now.

Play with the forces of physics in this addicting ragdoll simulation! Drag Ragdoll Man around, create explosions, and place mines. Features three modes of gameplay: Mouse drag, Explosion, and Mine Placement.

Many thanks to UT for providing the ragdoll model and the amazing tool, Unity!

Not to be a pest, but… any comments?

Looks great! Still some bugs, but really addicting.

Great work.

Very cool. I imagine you could even make something like Ragdoll Kungfu out of this. The only thing that bugged me was that the mouse still performed the last action when you click on the GUI buttons, like placing a mine under the drag button when I click on it after placing mines. Nothing huge.

AFAIK, that’s a bug with the Unity engine (being able to click “through” the GUI). I could fix it, of course, but I think it wouldn’t really be worth it.
Thanks for the comments.

Yes, I noticed that too. Also, the ragdoll will get stuck in walls/ceiling as well. Finally, the mines stack, but there is no limit to their size. So after stacking a few, they fill the screen.
Just a few complaints; nothing major.

Yup, the button problem is a bug that UT has already said will be fixed in the next release. So you can either create a work-around or do nothing until the next release.

If anyone is interested, the project folder will soon be for sale (hopefully before Christmas). Fixes for “stackable mines” and other minor bugs (such as the head going through the floor) will be corrected, and some general improvements will be made. PM me for details.
I will publish a build of the corrected game when it is ready.

Thanks,
DannyL

Updated to v1.1. Fixes include the “stackable mines” bug, the head going through objects, and getting stuck in walls should be harder. Also added a spotlight in the corner which follows the ragdoll.

Have fun, and Merry Christmas!

boom.

Hey DannyL…
very addictive… great work…
and LOL after viewing Jessy’s Image… i tried it …and as I am writing this message . the ragdoll is at work landing on mines …

cheers Steve

hehe really fun

Now imagine the ragdoll, trying to avoid personal damage, by trying to protect its head with its arms, trying to compensate falling with arms and legs, pushing itself of the walls and so on…

good fun!

would be awesome with a save to web so we can share

Very cool!
