Hey guys, sorry for not updating the plugin for a long time. Cuz I have been working in another country for over a year, there are many things that need to be dealt with. I have experiencing the gaming industry from different cultural backgrounds and learning a lot. Now I’m back!

There have been many changes this year, just like Unity has been updated to version 6, and RaindropFX is no longer available in the new version of Unity. But it’s not too late yet! I have submitted the new version of plugins developed for Unity 6 and they are currently under review, and they will meet with you soon!

Last but not least, there are a few things to note:

  1. The new version of the plugin is a special version because Unity officially announced at the Unite conference that they will integrate the existing three rendering pipelines (URP, HDRP, and standard rendering pipeline) into a unified rendering pipeline in Unity 7. Therefore, the current version of RaindropFX (RaindropFX URP 1.8 and RaindropFX HDRP 3.5) will be a special branch that can only be used for Unity 6 and will exist as independent plugins (they will have independent plugin web pages). When Unity 7 is released, I will deprecate them;

  2. The price of the new version plugin has increased slightly, why?
    Due to the use of Render Graph in the SRP of Unity 6, the development of post-processing has become more complicated than before, which has increased the development and maintenance costs. This is also the reason why older versions of RaindropFX cannot be used in Unity 6.

  3. Previously, there were comments and feedback: The initial configuration of RaindropFX URP version is too complicated!
    Indeed, in the old version, this part of the process was not optimized too much, so it was quite complicated. Now I have optimized this part of the process. In the old version, you need to: add at least three Render Features, manually assign multiple materials and shaders, and adjust the rendering order; Now all you need to do is add just one Render Feature and everything will be done!!

I’m refreshing asset store every day, hope unity review times are still around 10 days ,so looking forward to use this with unity 6.
