Random Crashes? Timescale can be bad ass

Hi,
if anybody stumbles about this: here is the story.
I am currently developing a 2d Game with lots of levels. I am using NGUI and 2D Toolkit. After i made some changes to especially the gui system, the unity editor would crash an me, when the end of a level was reached. Not always. Sometimes. No hint on why. Some on an iOs device. Just crashes, but no hint.
Monodevelop debugging doesn´t work any more, just sits there and says waiting for connection or so. Great.

Anyways, after hours of testing i found, that i used timescale = 0 in my gui, at the end of Levels. After commenting that out, everything is fine again. Now, either this interfears with my ingame stuff, or with ngui, or with 2dtoolkit. I cannot say unfortunately.

But if you guys experience crashes with not hints whatsoever, timescale might be the reason, as it is here.

All the Best and keep going,
Marjan!

I used timescale in a game and had no problems with it. Take a look at these packages you’re using, see if they have any problems with time scale.

Don’t use timescale of 0 as this can produce some possible divide by zero issues. Use 0.001f or something like that instead.
