Raycasting range

Is it possible to project a a wider raycast ? rather than to have it project just in a straight line ?

Ray casts are always lines, there's no such thing as a "wide" ray cast. The only way you could do it is with multiple rays or using a trigger collider instead of a ray.

I know this is a little old, but this might help for someone...
