Raycasts starting from inside primitive colliders

In a quick test, I found that raycasts starting from inside spheres hit the sphere the raycast starts in. This is not the same for capsules and boxes. I am assuming the orientation of the collider is irrelevant. So, is this expected behavior?

I have noticed this too. I have just used capsules for spheres that need raycasts in them in megapixel.
