That’s awesome. I would like to do something like this with Unity sometime (there’s no practical use, though).
There was a page on real-time raytracing I read a while back… It was slow of course (I think I recall it being around 10fps) but it lets you do a lot of things (like ridiculous amounts of polys) practically for free.

Yeah that’s using 3 PS3’s, but keep in mind he’s running using Linux to do that which means it’s ALL in software (unless something has changed and Sony now allows the graphics card to be used in Linux). Add in some graphics card support and it’s clear that realtime raytracing could easily be the next big thing…
You guys already know about “Equinox 3D” ( EQUINOX-3D ), right? I haven’t toyed with it recently, but the last time I did the “interactive raytrace renderer” was pretty cool.

I love it just for the shadows and the clear concept. I wonder how many PS4s you would need for it or Wii’s… :O)
