Reactivate Pro License

Hi, I’ve had the Pro license for about 14 months (the one where you pay every month). After that I stopped it for a couple of months, if I decide to reactivate it, do I have to pay the full 12 months again or can I just reactivate my Pro account where I left it off?
I mean, that license terms say that you have to pay 12 months, and after that you can stop any month. I already did my mandatory 12 months, do I have to redo the whole thing again?

Yes, once you cancel your subscription after going on to the flexible subscription, you will need to start the mandatory 12 Months again.

Really?? I already paid my full 12 months. Imho this doesn’t make sense at all. I’ll just finish this game with unity free and then go for another engine.

That you should have considered before canceling your Professional license contract.
It makes perfect sense that way. It not ok to “pause” your pro membership to save money and keep developing your game on in unity Personal Edition and then reactivate Professional license the for a month to publish it.

I think 75$ * 12 is already quite a bit of money, imho it’s enough money to pay for the whole software (especially compared to other game engines) that’s why I think it would make sense to be able to reactivate the license for less than 12 months. Honestly, I like unity but in the last years I felt like unity free had too many things missing and unity was asking too much for the pro version. 75$ / month for this, other 75$ for that, and so on. Having to reactivate the whole 12 months is out of question. I think the software is living with all those users that got used to it in the past years and little bit of hype for the fairly new unity 5 but I think more and more new developers will use a different engine from the beginning. Why would they want to pay 1000$ for something they can get for free somewhere else?

I i must missed the big news that a 100% unity engine clone is free now

Come on you know what I meant. Unity has a big community of long time users, but comparing pros and cons with other (free) game engines nowadays, imho it’s clear that all those users will start disappearing. It has the best option for many years, but now I’m not so sure. More and more users will do the thing I’m about to do, change engine, growing their communities, releasing games and making other engines even more tempting.

Sorry but everybody that does do commercially build games with unity and is not a … has no probably no problem buying the fully pro license or paying the 75 per month`for the Professional License.
If you do not do it commercially ,why not use the personal edition?
I’m not even tempted the slides bit with any other(free or not free) engine because they do not fit what i’m doing.

Does not look that way to me…

That’s what I’m saying, they have built a huge userbase in the past, but for someone who begins developing, other packages are more tempting so the amount of unity users will drop eventually. I’m not a professional, so paying again 75$ a month for 12 months (plus all iOs + Android, …) is too much, especially considering I already paid that for one full year. I’m using unity free now, but some missing features are a deal breaker, so as I said, I’ll finish this and I’m gone.
