Has anyone else start to notice a slightly new trend with Action-based MMO / MOBA Games?
I have noticed a few games here an there that are starting to try and get away from the Traditional Point and Click / Hack & Slash Diablo Style Controls for MMOs or MOBA and moving towards a more Third Person / Real-Time Action-based Control / Gameplay Style where there is no Lock on Target, and more about Timing, Skill and Accuracy.
I’ve seen this with an MMO called Swordsman, MOBA’s like SMITE and upcoming Transformer Universe, probably a handful of others starting to do this.
I personally love this idea… especially for MMOs, really helps you forget about grinding, and actually makes you want go hunt down endless Mobs while you practice your Hack and Slash Techniques. Which it’s not perfect yet I don’t think at least with my experience playing Swordsman, I think it’s something cool to look forward to.
