At first I thought you were talking about those 3d shopping malls that people tried to do years and years ago. I was hesitant, but when I saw it was a shop for your models, I changed my mind immediately.
This is fantastic, being able to see the models in a 3d setting is essential. Not only that, but how easily you have it set up to buy the pack and how quickly I can all your models is great. Good luck with the shop, it’s coming along!
I think the room should be a little bigger. It feels a little cramped as it is. Also, whenever I click a sign it doesn’t take me to the page where I can buy the models. It takes me back to the main page where you have the option of going to the virtual shop. Each sign should take you to the page where you can buy the model you just looked at in my opinion.
The glass on the cabinets is doing some crazy stuff with alpha or something… I could look through the cabinet with all the tools in at the military type guys.
Why don’t you give each individual model pack a “setting”. So, for your soldiers, you give it a sort of urban battle setting, etc. I think that would really sell the models better to the customer.
I was working on a system like this a while back, before deciding studying for college was slightly more important. Basically, I had different settings for the models, with things like a fire in a wood having different particle effects, lights and sounds (these could be turned off).
Another thing I had was with texture pack selling. I created a setting for a texture library (just an example), which consisted of urban textures. I therefore created a simple street containing all of the textures in the pack. The user could then right click on the walls containing a texture they liked to see more details about it, such as size, bump maps, specular maps etc etc.
I don’t know if this is too much work for what it’s worth (I never released the thing in the end), but I personally think it would help sell the models/textures/sounds or whatever you want to sell, better!
One thing I want to warn you about is that there are tools out there that enable people to recover 3d models and textures from VRAM while a game is running. So in theory, someone could just get the 3d models you’re trying to sell by opening up the Unity web player that you made to showcase them and using one of those afore-mentioned tools. My understanding is that it’s not a very simple process to do such a thing so maybe it’s not a big worry. Just wanted to let you know.
Yes i know about the risks but there is also a risk that people will put there downloads from my site online or share them
i mean you will always have pirates so thats sad same as jailbricket iphones
About the scene setting i just want to keep the scene clean as posible to keep the focus and attention to my models in the model packs and not to the scene
