Recommended laptops for Unity 3D development

Hi there,

we’re totally new about Unity3D and we’re going to hire an employee for development. He has a Sony Vaio with a dedicated graphic card that allow him to work discreetly, but often rendering times are long and it doesn’t see some advanced textures or polygons correctly.

We have good devices in our company, but we are all generic software developers and we do not need to develope 3D. We’re searching for a good notebook to give him for 3D development. May you give us some suggestions about it? Our budget is around 1,500$.

Thanks so much.

I would recommend locating sites that are more geared toward 3D animation/software to find likewise questions and answers to this. While rendering may help in conceptual context and/or in perhaps some post production… it will have nearly zero impact related to the actual game development and Unity.

Building quality models for animation/rendering can be quite different to models made for games.

Regardless, cgsociety has a great forum that answers questions like this… however, I do recommend browsing many of similar answers given to this subject before asking any questions. Do some research, find some system specs that you “think” may match and then ask questions. And be sure to state what 3D software you are actually using… makes a difference.
