Reconnecting Daydream Controller After Going Into Sleep Mode

If the Daydream controller disconnects (e.g., for whatever reason, the phone moved out of reach from the controller), the controller seems to go into sleep mode and then requires pressing the Home button to reconnect the controller. None of the other actions (touch pad, app button, or volume) seems to re-activate the controller.

Is this the expected behavior?

What message should we give the users in this case?

I guess it may be worth allowing any button to reconnect the controller since, once the controller is recharged or back in range, pressing the Home button more than once would exit to the Daydream App.
