Hello all!
I am a former TGEA developer that is anxiously awaiting Unity 2.5…
For now I can only show you what I have done with TGEA, but it will be ported to and enhanced in Unity!

I have specifically rejected the idea of using GG’s constructor BSP modeler, thus everything you see is a mesh with plenty of good LODs. The terrain is a hightmap that can also be ported to Unity. The ground textures were created as separate (very large) images.
Here are some screen shots from an Unreal-3 test I did.

I am hoping that using Unity Pro I will be able to get close to the level of quality of Unreal-3, but without the cost…
First off Welcome to the Unity forums.
I am an ex TGEA user myself, and I am never looking back, so yes welcome indeed. I will say that actually was impressive looking. Some of the nicest stuff I have seen come from that engine. Hats off to you.
I am now looking forward to seeing this ported to Unity and enhanced… Cash in hand.
Regards.
That looks really impressive. It looks like an aweful lot of work you’ve put into it. I’m looking forward to seeing what Unity can bring to that stuff. Let us know when you finish Red Crucible.
