I want to be able to protect and sell(one day) my game title. Is electronic proof of creation(copyright) enough or should I register. What do you do to protect yours?
Copyright is automatic upon creation; registration will help if you expect to end up in court.

Thanks for quick reply. From what I had read so far, your answer summarizes them all. If someone else wants lawyer opinion there you go. http://www.justanswer.com/intellectual-property-law/1xrax-copyright-video-game-idea-submit-video.html
You cant protect a title without filing for a Trade Mark, though. The Crazy Adventures of Gurc can only be protected as a “brand” if you register it.
The art, music, story and other elements are yours alone via automatic copyright, but don’t expect a particular name/title to be yours to use exclusively. Just in case that’s what you meant when you said “my game title.”
Also keep in mind that copyright only protects you from intentional copying. If someone knows nothing about your idea or work, and by pure coincidence happens to make an extremely similar product, copyright does not protect you.
Then trademark it is. Thanks a lot. I was so close to making a fatal mistake(a million dollar :-P) because of being tight-fisted.
