Hey, I am having some trouble setting up google play services, it is not working even though I added the google play services to the folder submit/Plugins/Android/
There was a ZIP with the GooglePlayServices, I unzipped it, and attempted to merge the manifest, but after I add the info there it sends me an error saying : “Hmm. You seem to be using GooglePlayServices without importing the GooglePlayServices libraryPlease ensure that you import it first!”
I am just using that plugin from the entire list. everything else (that can be ticked off) is ticked off.
@JakeTBear
Thanks for posting. What you need to do is move everything in the “Submit” folder into the “Assets” folder.
For example, your Android plugin folder should reside in Assets/Plugins/Android, rather than Assets/Submit/Plugins/Android.
Also, ensure that the GooglePlayServices folder doesn’t contain another folder named the same. Your folder should look like
Assets/Plugins/Android/GooglePlayServices/{all files}
and not
Assets/Plugins/Android/GooglePlayServices/GooglePlayServices/{all files}
Try those out, and if you still have any problems, please feel free to email us or post here!
Hey, I did that and it ended up working for the google play services, but it seems that everything else had issues, I will try to just move it all to assets as well (not just the plugins).
I would suggest you make sure the folders in the package are already properly placed, I spent some time trying to get it to work but finally gave up.
does the google analytics function work cross-platform on all builds as it would?
Also, in the same line, does the google play achievements implementation also work on ios builds?
Do you guys plan on implementing google play multiplayer in the future?
All modules work only on Android. This includes Google Analytics and Play Services. We’re working on a separate plugin for the other platforms. The Windows version is available on the Asset Store and the iOS version is coming soon.
Multiplayer for Google Play Services is already available for Android. Google Play Services includes the following
Achievements
Leaderboards
Quests
Events
Real time multiplayer
Turn based multiplayer
Cloud save is coming soon in an update
is the analytics in the wp8 asset goggle analytics, or something MS rolled up?
When you guys release the iOS asset will it include multiplayer through google play?(fingers crossed)
Currently for the WP8 version, Flurry is the only analytics platform. However, we are adding Google Analytics in an update.
And yes, we are definitely including play services for the iOS version.
We release our plugins early, so our early buyers get the benefit of a lower price.
Lastly, if you have any features that you would like to see for any platform, head over to our forums and post a request for a feature. We usually try our best to include it in the earliest possible update.
@Kiori
Using any of the modules is fairly straight forward. Most of them involve signing up with the provider (Google Analytics in your case), getting an ID from the respective console and then trying out the samples we’ve included in the package.
