Zombies vs. Knights has finally been released!
Zombies vs. Knights is a “casual” strategy game that focuses on smart unit production, intelligent use of unit upgrades, and reflexes, while not being so very different from other strategy games. Both factions are trying to destroy the other’s base - lead your troops to victory!
This is not a “final” release of the game, there’s still features to be added that will make this even more enjoyable, such as:
-Multiplayer support
-Multiplayer leaderboards
-Additional units
-Additional maps
The game’s core features are all done. It took a mere month to get the game in this good of shape, and it won’t be long before the game gets better yet!
Thanks to all the testers in the beta phases for their input! Additionally, thanks to Mike Hergaarden of M2H Studios for some choice input, and ideas of where to take this great project next!
Enjoy the game, and remember: this is like a fine wine. It will only get better with age!
Hm, can’t say I’m a big fan of the game. The AI seems to be doing lots of strange things, the music gets annoying rather quickly and soundeffects remind me of old C64 games.
Plus, I get the impression that I can’t really do much to push the battle into any direction, there’s too much random stuff going on (like enemies jumping out of the battlefield and my soldiers turning around to get them etc ). So I feel like I’m just pressing buttons and then wait for what’s happening. “Strategy” doesn’t seem to come into it much.
Needs work. I just kept clicking the lich button while watching TV and won. Balance the units and make the AI react to counter your strategy.
Thanks for the ideas, spinaljack. The AI is already set for a couple of improvements. I think this is the first time I’ve heard of a game getting criticized for being too easy, but I also understand - the choices need to be meaningful, and spamming Lich means there’s improvement to be made.
(Although the Lich is awesome.)
ZvK has been added to Kongregate! While I am working on the FPS project, I’ve done a little work on this too!
Some changes for this game are around the corner, never fear!
It was just approved on dimeRocker too.
Thanks, Brad!
I’ll have an update for that game eventually. ZvK is taking a backburner to Laser Cat, which is taking a side-burner to SnowKing. 'Tis the life of an indie programmer.
