An adaptive soundtrack is music that changes in intensity to match the action of your scene!

Walking around normally? Set the music intensity to 1.
See the enemy nearby? Set the music intensity to 2.
Has the enemy spotted you? Set the music intensity to 3.

The music smoothly transitions intensity levels without missing a beat, and never stops until you tell it to. No player will ever hear the same soundtrack twice.

It’s not just volume that changes - it’s the dynamics and instrumentation choices. The music literally becomes more powerful, and more epic as you increase intensity. Scaling from pianissimo to fortissimo!

In an entertainment medium like games or film/tv, the music should definitely serve as an emotional cue-card, rather than something overly in-your-face that detracts from what’s going on on-screen.
