[RELEASED] CraftMaster - A crafting framework

We’re proud to announce our first Asset Store offering, CraftMaster. We released it last year, but never had the opportunity to say much about it. This is a tool we created for ourselves when trying to make Harsh Planet. We liked the tool, so we decided to clean it up a bit and release it. It aims to take away some of the burdens with trying to design and implement a basic crafting system.

However, it’s not just limited to crafting. It’s any type of game or application that you have some kind of resource that you want to turn into an item or another resource. Ask us on Twitter for examples! We want to show you how easy it is to use, so for the rest of this month we’re putting CraftMaster at 50% off normal price. In addition, we’re holding a contest. A challenge for you and for us.

Follow @MindCrit and tweet basic game designs with the hashtag #CMTDC (CraftMaster Tweet Design Contest). Yup, game design in about 140 characters; that’s your challenge. Throughout the month, we’ll be choosing a few tweet designs we like and we’ll start making your game using our crafting system. That’s our challenge. Due to time, skill and licensing restrictions, we’ll be limiting art to default Unity assets and/or simple shapes. When we finish, we’ll email you the project with a license for our tool. We claim no ownership upon the project, it’s all yours. We’d love it if you kept us (and fellow devs) updated on the progress, but that’s your call too. Feel free to use real ideas, throw away ideas, random ideas that you want to see us struggle with, etc!

Don’t want to tweet out your idea to us? We understand, you can still check out CraftMaster on sale! However, we encourage you to remember that what makes a game good is design decisions and implementation and not the seed of an idea; especially one that fits in a tweet!

Hey, did you guys ever make that video your promised? I bought your asset a while ago and have an email where you promised a video. Still waiting!
