I’ve followed your work every time you posted here in the forums and i really think you’ve put a lot of effort in doing them but i think you really should improve the texturing of your models.

If you don’t mind i’m putting some screenshots of what i dislike, this is from your free Temple Creator Lite pack:

In the altar model, the side walls looks pretty good but the floor and ceiling are the same texture stretched. That makes the model looks kind of weird.

Arc pillar model, side wall - left side looks good, the same wall but front side looks stretched.

Obelisk model have some errors too as stated above.

Summing up i checked your models and i think they are modeled nicely but the weak point are the textures (UV Mapping and also you could use better textures 2048 or even 4096).

Please take this take this as constructive criticism. If you fix this you have here a guaranteed buyer.

Thank you kindly, as I’ve been hoping for more responses like this!
I fully appreciate what you have written here and I don’t take it as negative.

Although the “Temple LITE” is a bad example to show: (But thank you for showing me some of the errors), I have been told of some texture stretches and errors in the past and have fixed what was needed. With this new package, and all recently created packs, I have upped my texture qualities, I’ve created more unique styled build, with of course different wall and floor texture looks.

As mentioned, I do work full time in this field of modelling, so I will try and increase my textures up to par more soon
Thanks. -Max

I’d like to see those changes maybe you should update your free packages.

Also i tried to play the demo at http://maxwelljohnsongame.wix.com/pwtempleedition/ but it’s not working for me.

Indeed, I will update that package soon!

Hmm I’ll re-upload that demo scene, idk why it isn’t working. I’ll post when it is up!
What happens? Just get the unity puzzle symbol?

Thanks

This is what i’m seeing but it never loads.

Here is the Web Demo, showing full amount of prefabs in package, display scene is using basic directional light lighting:

I bought one of your medieval packs and was not happy with it either. I wanted to support you though as a new asset store creator but the assets were out of scale, textures blurry, and some stretched areas. I realize you would fix them if I asked but as I found alternatives, I really don’t need them fixed at the moment.

The reason I posted this is that it is nice that you fix stuff. Customer support is so important and greatly appreciated. However, some of the issues are things that with experience, you should be able to notice before releasing, such as the above stretched textures on the temple models. You need to get your quality control down.

It is hard…I know. I make my own models, texture them, stick them in the world…and notice all sorts of stupid mistakes. I have to take them out and fix them. Sometimes I miss the mistakes and someone else points them out from a screenshot. But…if I were selling them, I think I would be doubly careful…at least I like to think I would. Nice that you will fix them but not worth the hassle sometimes. I probably won’t buy anymore for a while. Maybe in the future. I do love modular pieces.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. I always double check everything I make, but not always see every error :frowning: … and yes as I started out months ago, my modelling was great, but texturing, not so much… And that I have improved much, and still am improving now and in the future. As I’ve grown deeper into modelling and selling these packages, I have gained much more experience, and I hold a promise for increased qualities/ minimal to no errors as my newer packs come released!

This P&W pack is one of those: Constantly checked before release, improved texturing with better qualities, lessened close-up blurs.
I have had those who complimented my packs highly, and others who have not, but that’s ok with me, as I take all things into consideration! But as well, my apologies for any errors in previous packs, I have tried to keep up with all of them, including constant updates.

Thanks -Max

And you always take criticism with grace. I appreciate that about you. I will take a look at your stuff again in the future. I am happy to see you are successful with your packs.

The more someone works at something, the better they get!
And for those who take it hurtful when constructive criticism is given, in my opinion, I feel bad that that person does not acknowledge what is trying to be accomplished.

The posts like you have given me are an extra boost of motivation to fully increase my qualities and models to meet the expectations of any customers!

Here’s a model, from another pack I am working on, that I’ve started today: (Specular models, textures at 1024 res.)
