Released Planecreator for iPad today.

Hey Unity Community.

Finished my iPad app last week and it’s finally been released to the app store today.

You can view it on the app store here.

I made a trailer and everything!

PlaneCreator was developed by a two man team (1 artist + 1 coder) from New Zealand. We used Prime31’s free UIToolkit for the UI . Hardest part of the project was probably working with Texture2D’s GetPixels and SetPixels to paint the plane and rendering the flat folded paper on top of itself without artefacts.

Each plane, including all both sides of the paper, a screenshot and its folding data, are encoded as a png and then upload to Imgur.com (Image hosting site). Was surprisingly easy to get this working and it made me feel extra smart

If you’ve got any questions ask away and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Lovely!

amazing work!!
My son (and myself) would love it… have you planned an Android port at some point?

We intend to make an Android port if we make enough money off the iPad version. Would have to make a few adjustments to the UI to handle the slightly different screen ratios but it shouldn’t take that much work (Unity is the best).

Best of luck on the appstore!

i’ve just bought your app, a very nice and creative one! Any chance to see kind of a simulation for the planes to test the efficiency? It would be wonderful…

This looks great! Too bad I don’t have an iPad :(.
