The player moves fine in 3D space, however the camera is currently only scripted to follow the player in a side scrolling manner. So in the currently version, the camera only follows the player in a 2D/2.5D manner, I will add 3D camera following support in a upcoming version.
Also, my pack should work fine with any other “Camera Follow” packs that focus on camera movement. For example this asset, Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making , deals with a lot of difficult situations like when the camera runs into world geometry, and how it reacts / where it moves to.
This pack will continue to improve, but a dedicated “camera follow” pack (like previously mentioned one) may be more thorough and complete than what I initially build.
Yeah, I have a home grown camera solution that I’m pretty happy with so would keep that but would like to see more of the platforming in a 3D space and on things like moving platforms, slopes, etc.
I will add moving platforms in the next update, version 0.3, as well as adding support for moving the camera in full 3D (not only side scroller). I will show these in the 0.3 video and post the update here.
Thank you for the support Cosmas. Unfortunately income from Asset Store sales wasn’t enough to even keep Unity Pro paid, let alone keep pushing development forward.
I had high hopes for the asset but projects like this take months of work for essentially no return (or just enough to keep Unity Pro Subscription paid). It’s difficult to support and continue development without money coming in.
I guess a lot of Assets on the asset store need to become popular and heavily used for the developer to continue to release updates and provide support. I was hoping this would be popular so I could work on it full time, but no luck yet!
