When dragged into the graph, Properties now have doubled-up text which creates unnecessary clutter. Compacting the property removes the connection dot (unless it’s already connected to something), making the compact form of the property mostly useless.
I’d love to have the team consider taking this back to what it was before, in-line with the shader graph.
Thanks!

This might be related to a bug or a change of the default node state, or both. I will investigate on this.
You see, in 2022LTS, the property can also be expanded like their ports.

Now, in Unity 6 the default property state when created seems to be expended.

In Unity 6, to get back to the Small inline shape you need to double-click the property which in VFX Graph allows to “Super-collapse” node as the arrow doesn’t do anything when the property is plugged…
Here are some examples of Collapse/Super-Collapse operation and the weird behavior with the properties when trying to collapse them thanks to the arrow.

So, there is definitely something fishy about the behavior of properties with the collapse mechanism.
This is what their default state should look like when created:
Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I wish you a wonderful day.
