Removing shadows in editor, but shadows return in playmode

this video shows that i remove the shadows from the lightsource but the shadows return in playmode.

any way i can get around this?

Is there maybe a script running when entering playmode that changes light shadow settings?

Did you remember to rebake your lightmaps? That’s a baked light.

it was realtime, i changed it to bake to see if it would stop it from happening

What quality setting are you on in the editor? And what quality setting is your game using at runtime?
Lower quality settings usually have shadows turned off.
