Render Outside Safe Area - odd behaviour

Hi,

When ticking the option “Render Outside Safe Area” OFF (I wish to have the whole top “Notch” row black), I get a different behaviour for portrait and landscape mode. In portrait mode, the top corners are sharp, while in landscape mode, the corners are rounded (see attached images). Any ideas, why I get this behaviour? How can I achieve the rounded corners in portrait mode?

Thank you for your help.
Best regards

Hi, these rounded corners are not done by Unity. It should be caused by Android OS. What device and which Android version you are using?

Hi, it was tested on LG G7 (unfortunately this is the only notched device i have access to at the moment). Android version 9. Unity version 2019.2.10f1. This was a completely empty test scene. I noticed this behaviour on my project on 2019.1.9f1.

Thanks for your help.

those rounded corners are a result of device specific setting LG G7 notch settings pictured - GSMArena.com news
Unity can’t control that.

The settings do work, but only for LG launcher and LG applications. I have tried a couple of different 3party apps/games and they are all the same (sharp corners). So yes, it seems you are right. Thank you for clearing this up
