"Render outside safe area" player setting and device simulator

Does the “render outside safe area” player setting not affect simulations?
I have the mentioned player setting unchecked. Yet the objects seem to be rendered outside the safe area. I am using Unity 2019.3.2f. I Also tried building it on OPPO A5s (running oreo) that has a notch but it still rendered outside the notch. What am I missing here?

u need to uncheck the start in fullscreen mode on the player
