I am making a game that needs to have a curved view screen. I know how to do a camera render texture and put that on a flat plane.
I created the curved screen by taking a sphere and cutting out 3/4 of the faces using GameDraw. I then created the render texture and dragged it onto this 1/4 sphere. It ends up being split down the middle and distorted.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work right?
I figured it out. GameDraw has a UV mapping feature. As many of you probably realized I would need to do I had to map the UVs.
I am still having some difficulty getting just the right look for this. I have the curved surface and the UVs set up so they map basically correctly and the render texture showing up.
The problem I have is that obviously the polygons at the top of the 1/4 sphere are closer together than the ones at the bottom so the image at the top is distorted. I have tried moving the UVs around and just can’t get the right look.
If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.
