Rendering an exact copy of a skinned mesh

I need to be able to draw an exact copy (or multiple copies) of a character with a different position and rotation.

I have tried Graphics.DrawMesh, but it doesn’t seem to work on skinned meshes.

I also noticed SkinnedMeshRenderer.Render(), but it doesn’t seem to do anything and isn’t documented.

Is there a way I can do this without needing to duplicate the mesh for each copy and screw around with the animators to force them to be at the exact same animation state?

I didn’t find a good solution to this problem, so I just set it up to duplicate the model and play the same animations on all of them.
