Rendering issue on Windows 10 with Unity 4.6.7

Recently we published a Windows Store game built with Unity 4.6.7. Some of our players report that they see rendering issue on some Windows 10 machines. Following is a screenshot of the rendering issue.

The rendering problem happens in a tiled ground system which uses self-illuminated vertex lit shader. The machine is MSI Leopard GP60 2PE, which is very powerful. In addition to the rendering problem we also found that although the machine’s graphic card is Nvidia GeForce 840M, Unity reports it as Intel HD Graphic 4600 in SystemInfo.graphicDeviceName.

This is an issue that only repro on some of Windows 10 machines. Right now we don’t have a repro locally. Can anyone shed some light on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Hi,

do you know whether it happens on that machine only, or multiple machines of the same model? It might be a driver issue if it’s happening on a particular machine only, in which case I’d recommend reinstalling graphics drivers.

Thanks for the quick response.

We have about 40 beta testers on Windows 10 and 2 of them reported the same rendering issue. One is using MSI Leopard GP60 2PE, another one is using Asus Zenbook UX302LG.

I will ask them to reinstall the graphic drivers and see whether it can resolve this issue.

Is it a known issue to Windows 10?

I do not believe so. You’re the first one to report such an issue. Would it be a possibility for you to give us a build of your game so our QA could try reproducing it?

If that is an option, send me a private message so we could arrange this.
