@ZRock777,

The Unity website has a page on Render Textures that includes step-by-step instructions on setting up a render texture:

http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Components/class-RenderTexture.html

In a nutshell: a render texture is a special kind of asset that you attach to a camera and that shows what the camera sees, rather than the camera being rendered to the screen as usual. So, you would need two cameras in your scene, one being the main camera and the other that captures what you want the render texture to see. To get a dynamic ‘zoom’ effect in the scope, try adjusting the field of view down.

If you’re curious, you can also check out the old Bootcamp Demo (available for free through the Asset Store) that Unity supplies, which includes a gun with a scope that you could borrow from.
