Renting servers outside of Unity

Hi,

Just a couple of quick questions:

  1. Can you run unity networked games through your own servers or do you have to go through Unity?

  2. How “good” a service do Unity provide? I mean that in terms of management of server space etc. For example, can I quickly change how much space I need to rent if my game was to suddenly become very successful?

Unity doesn’t, that i know of, do server hosting. The do provide a paid Relay and Multiplayer MatchMaking service.

And for number 1, yes you can totally use your own servers for UNET or Unity games in general.
