I can’t seem to figure out where I would report an ad I think is inappropriate.
Basically the ad/game I would like to complain about has shown up in two different games I play, and I know the games use unity ads. The game is zGirls and the ad involves a large breasted anime girl with a grabby hand over her chest. She says “No” and the hand grabs her anyhow, she blushes and says “oh!”
I have issues with the game in general, but it is my choice not to play it. It is not my choice however to keep seeing a woman’s consent to be touched violated and normalized repeatedly. Teens play these games, normalizing that kind of behavior is NOT ok.
Would be nice if there was a form for this. I just saw an ad for a game called “Legend of Pirates” where the gameplay shown was ripped straight from Sid Meier’s Pirates (the newest one)
Is there any update for this? How do you report an advertisement? I started off being ticked off by the companies creating offensive and/or false advertisements, but now I’m finding myself being more irritated with Unity for not providing a way to report these types of ads.
Thank you everyone for voicing their concerns about advertisement content quality. If you feel like you urgently want to report an advertisement that you consider might be infringing on some other IP or that might be otherwise inappropriate - please contact unityads-support@unity3d.com or send a ticket through the dashboard.
Make sure to provide these details:
Your game ID (if applicable)
Advertised game or campaign
Screenshot (if possible - remember to grab some when it’s playing)
Time when this happened
These will help us pinpoint whether it’s one of our ads and which campaign. Then we can moderate if necessary.
I have a major issue with a ad shown through your system. “First Love Kiss-Cupid’s Romance Mission” shows cartoon teenage boys passionately kissing! This is beyond disgusting! When my young son comes to me and says “Dad, why are these boys kissing…” There is an issue. I don’t care if people want to be gay, but when this type of behavior is advertised to children we have a major issue… This borders on pedophilia seriously… If an alcohol or tobacco company was using cartoon games to entice children to use their products we’d loose our minds and we should. I would like this ad removed, this ad is morally defunct to say the least…!(https://drive.google.com/file/d /1z6632Ag76fuzBUrzwTjpJh363LRI1CJ4/view?usp= drivesdk)
If this reoccurs - can you select the hand+shield privacy icon from the ad end card and then → show build information → take a screenshot and send it to unityads-support@unity3d.com and we’ll take a closer look at the ad content.
Hi, thanks for reporting. In case you still see the ad, you should be able to use the “Report ad” button on the endcard. Did you see if the endcard said Unity Ads?
Hi there, i have issue with an ad of a game called “Rich and Famous” (Indonesian region), in which it depicts sensual content, and i have already reported it using the “report ad” button. The problem is, nothing seems to happen. I keep seeing the same ad every now and then. Every time the ad showed up, i always reported it, and it has going for like not less than 10 reports. Please do something. Many thanks
It would be great to get a system similar to what AdMob has: Where the dev can see all ads that have been shown in his apps recently so that you can filter them out manually and don’t have to rely on users complaining about them.
I have to seriously ask: do you have any review process on the ads being published on your platform? My kids (4 y.o. and 6 y.o.) keep seeing extremely inappropriate ads about online g ambling (which is legally prohibited in our country) which leads them to a seemingly benign app, pretending as something like “background remover” with 3+ rating — but in fact being a client for online casino.
This is beyond inappropriate, this can lead to me paying huge fines or, in worst case, serving actual time in jail. And it’s not a single occasion — there are literally dozens of these ads/apps, and my kids keep seeing them every day.
What is going on, seriously? Can Unity Ads be trusted altogether? Or should I just delete the game immediately after I see the “Made with Unity” splash screen?
P.S. I would really appreciate a reply, as I’m so frustrated that I’m starting to compose together a blog post — I’m even willing to spend money on the campaign because this issue is simply beyond infuriating.
My above complain was not about the games I have published myself. My kids keep seeing this in ads from other developers as well.
For the games I have published: I indeed have “This app is directed to children under the age of 13.” in the project info in Unity. However, I had to remove the age categories below 13 from the Google Play Store’s Target Audience — because they can remove my app from the store if it serves in appropriate ads (which it absolutely surely does!). I also tried “Do not show ads rated 13+” — but the issue is still persistent.
But most importantly, the ads served are simply illegal — even for <17 y.o. (well, strictly speaking, online gambbling is illegal for everyone in my country), so I think these ads shouldn’t show at all. I believe they also violate other policies, e.g. pretending to be benign games whilst in fact they are just thin clients for some online money fraud businesses.
Hi @ You can exclude certain categories from showing up in your game by Unity dashboard. I don’t know if this feature was existing when he created this thread.
My game is set for 7+ people on Google play store so i have concerns about if they would show 13+ ads even though i removed the specified categories in the image.
I adivce you to go check the dictionary. If you’re lazy to check dictionary or afraid to face who’s uneducated, just read the words that i quote from the dictionary below.
Person:
“We use person in the singular to refer to any human being.”
People:
“To refer to groups of human beings or humans in general, we use people.”
