Reporting a theft on the Unity Asset Store: How?

Hey guys,

I was looking at the Unity Asset Store and stumbled across a weapons pack that looked oddly familiar. It was familiar becuase it was a Weapon pack I worked on and some mug is selling it for money on the UAS.

The packs were released for Free several years ago and they have been available on all the common ‘market place’ websites as well as my own ModDB Profile http://www.moddb.com/members/bronco78th/addons.

It should be noted the pistol pack thats done by the same ‘publisher’ (Zicorp Studios, a group a mate and me set-up afew years ago, before things crashed and burned) I do not recognise so that might be legitamate. but the other two packs are definatily ours.

How can I go about getting this removed from the store as I can’t find an ovious way of reporting them?

Rant* This is why people are tight fisted gits and seemingly never release anything for free, always one or two who take advantage. Id like to presume this is a kid that just needs a bitch slap. But sadly it might not be. Im not too bothered someone making money I could have been making, but the principle that people are buying it from UAS and the exact same stuff can be downloaded for free from elsewhere doesn’t make me happy.

Thanks for any help in this matter folks.

John

P.S Oh and I have checked with my mate who knows nothing about this

Thought lets find that weapon pack on the asset store and have a look, I must say its exactly the same as yours indeed.

Roy

I would suggest contacting assetstore@unity3d.com.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We’ve removed the assets and are in contact with Zicorp. And indeed, always feel free to email us at assetstore@unity3d.com or support@unity3d.com whenever you come across this kind of thing. We take it very seriously!

Man this kind of thing makes me mad.

As a warning to folks who do this kind of thing, you put yourself at great legal risk if you attempt to post or sell assets on the Asset Store which are not yours to legally sell. If you put up public domain content, freely available elsewhere, and mark it up for a price, you’re also violating the Asset Store terms of service, in addition to accumulating some really rotten karma.

Cheers
Caitlyn

Many thanks for the Swift reply and Action Caitlyn.
