Hi there,
Great work on the localization package! While the plugin provides a list of all locales, there doesn’t seem to be a way to know which locales Unity UGUI can actually render properly. For instance, I’ve noticed that languages like Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, and even Korean require separate plugins or face rendering issues.
Could you consider creating a page that lists problematic languages and potential solutions for addressing these rendering challenges?
I understand this will likely require community input, as developers from different regions can share how they’ve tackled these issues.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for raising this point about localization and right-to-left language support.
You’re right, providing specific documentation for every text rendering integration would be a massive undertaking and quickly become outdated.
That’s why we’ve focused on making the localization package adaptable to various UI systems. The text team is also actively working on right-to-left language support. In fact, our new advanced text system is being designed with this in mind.
We’ve addressed numerous text-related issues over the past few years. However, we know there’s always room for improvement. If you encounter any specific issues, please don’t hesitate to file a bug report. This helps us flag any issues and prioritize them.
