I Made A Game But Evidently I’m So Emotionally Unattached To The Work That I Can’t Name It Myself

In other words: the person who should be naming the game is the person who made the game, the person who built it, who slept with it every night, who put hard hours putting the drive, the ambition, the emotion, into play. Only that person is truly close enough to define it.

(But literally what EternalAmbiguity said above. It’s your game, you build it and you’ll have to come up with a good name by yourself)

Generic Military Tactics Game Without a Specific Theme, Chapter 1

or GMTGWAST, C1 as the cool kids will call it.

Seriously though, “military” is the closest word you’ve used to a theme, but without giving us a hint at anything specific beyond that, it’s just guesswork.

I always thought “The Crucible” could be a good name for a game and could cover a lot of themes.

Does your game have a narrative/story/characters at all or at least a setting? If not, maybe it should?

The game is in my words a 1v1 online competetive game where people come together or play over the internet against each other. Red vs Blue. You have tanks to send to attack the enemy base and artillery to clear the tanks and bombers to eliminate the artillery and AA guns to counter and tanks to counter AA:s. You can deploy troops and the just drive forward to eliminate or be eliminated.

What types of tanks? Are these American-style tanks? European? What kinds of environments are the maps? Why don’t you show us an image or two so we can see what the game looks like, get a glimpse of what it feels like?

Because from how you’re describing it (I was right about no emotional attachment, wasn’t I…) the title should be “The Real-Time Strategy Game.” You’re just describing features, not personality. A name reflects personality.

You’re having a hard time with a name, since the game apparently has no theme or personality yet. Which means you could come up with something that doesn’t directly describe the game (I mean, one of the seminal first-person shooters is called Quake after all) by using a word that generally describes the feel of the game or make up character or faction names to use. Otherwise, it’s going to be too generic and not very Google-able.

It could be that you need to develop it further before a theme emerges.

Anyway, just to throw out some stupid names so you know what NOT to name it:

Something Something Wars
RvB
War. What Is It Good For?
Treads
Beach Breach
Boom Time
Battlicious
Flank This!
My General Can Beat Up Your General

Flank this sound pretty cool. but couldn’t suit my game, would suit a open world game like boom beach. Well if you want you can give the colors(factions) names
My suggestions.
Red: INSOQ
Green: FM Corp.
Blue: 3. Initative
Gray: Royal Bravo
Also for my game a name like Field of Fire: RTT cause it needs to be a brand and the game is just wars on a field.

Point being - asking people to name something who know nothing about the content other than a couple lines will result in gibberish, compared to someone who has intimate, hands on knowledge of the content.
Field of Fire doesn’t sound terrible.

I agree with all, including the semi-positive recommendation for Field of Fire.
