main search doesn’t allow to make query such as “term” in “subforum” so subforums need their own search bar like in threads.
Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by “term”. Do you mean a keyword?
What is the actual issue, with searching sub forum?

Ah I see, that makes sense.
This even been asked at least once past year.
However, while in some cases Unity forum search may be convenient, it is more proficient to use any web search engine, to get best results.
how do you query google to a subforum? I only know how to query to a domain with site:unity.com
I simply put keywords in front. Not specifically targetting sub forum.
For example
Unity forum DOTS
But I just realized, this may not work in certain cases as expected.
For example,
Unity forum animation
May throw out results to different sub-forums.
I agree with @laurentlavigne , I’m hitting my head on walls whenever I want to search something on a subforum. The regular search interface is just plain painful. There a dozens of subforums and you need to select and go through the list each time you simply want to search…
Forum based on the tech you seem to use have this ability. I’m pretty sure it’s as simple as a checkbox in the configuration page.
It’s so painful that I would even consider making a browser extension in order the be able to search
I’m pretty sure a lot of people create a post just because it was so unclear how to search for issues on a subforum. I’m part of them actually
Other reference that are on the subforum search issue
(It seems someone created the extension I’m talking about in here)
@UnityMaru Isn’t it just an easy switch in config ?
