Hi I’m currently doing an assessment for uni where we have to make a game with a tropical theme. finding assets/models that follow this theme for free is quite complicated so what I’m wondering is if I get an asset and wish to edit it i.e download a soldier and want to change his colors to look more tropically, how would I do this? I have experience using Maya software so would I be able to edit it in this. Also could I create an asset from scratch in Maya and import it into unity? If so how would I do this? Thanks for any help you can give me.

1Hello, yes you can modify or create 3d And 2d assets as you wish, importing a model that you created is as simple as moving files between folders. just drag your model file (for ex: .fbx file) and drop it into unity project window. also, you can right click>show in explorer any asset that you downloaded from asset store and work on them as normally you work on anything else.
I hope This Answer was Helpfull.

Storing references to script assets is of no use as those are just text source files
System.Type can be used to represent scripts and can be stored in a list too: List<System.Type> - but those must be (de)serialized manually tho.
