retargeting animation problems

So I bought this mocap asset from the asset store.

I’m trying to get them to work with UMA.

When I apply any of the animations to a UMA avatar the Z axis gets changed and there is no animation movement. Applying the animations also changes the character pose from the UMA default.

I also noticed that these animations have different settings then all the others ones that I’ve obtained from the asset store that do work.

Root Transform Rotation → Based Upon is set to Root node rotation. Others I have used were set to body orientation, but that is not even available on these animations.

Root Transformation Position (XZ) is also set to Root node position, where as most other animations I’ve obtained were set to Center of mass. Again not an option with these animations.

Looking at the models, the root bones are different. The bounds are also different. I suspect this is why it looks like the Z axis is different?

I don’t know enough about modeling to know what it is I need to fix here. Any points would be greatly appreciated.

Well not sure why I didn’t notice this before and I don’t understand why it’s done this way. But every animation in this asset comes with it’s own avatar. I’m guessing that’s not good?

Ok so the animation type in this package was generic not humanoid. Taking their example model and changing it from generic to humanoid worked but the loop match indicator on Root Transformation Position (XZ) is red.

Does this sound fixable or does it look like I’m screwed?

Root Transformation Position (XZ) is only necessary if you want to create a clip that doesn’t move the X/Z component of the root/hips, you don’t need to have a green light indicator on all setting,
