Hello everyone, I’m making a musical rhythm game. Here is one level from it. I would be glad to hear any feedback. Thanks.
Wait… amanotes already made a game exactly like this, except that is slightly better and first. I dont recomend to copy other games as it will make your game boring and almost no one will play it. Add some special feature for your game or it will be, well, bad. You could add obstacles, for example, or some collectibles, and also, how the player will know which color it can jump if ball is always same? try to do a material changing system.
Now i reviewed this and got another question: do you can use these songs? (e.g., “Alone” by Marsmello), because you downloaded the song doesnt exactly means you can use it. You may pay for the author, request permission, agree with a ton of legal content, etc. And if you use songs that you cant use, author can (and may will) act legally against your project, for example, you may need to remove the song for the game.
As i mentioned earlier, i dont know how amanotes got able to use a thousillion copyrighted songs in games such as Tiles Hop, but that doesnt means that you can use every song you downloaded in your game. I develop projects of rhythm games, and i found content that may be usefull:
https://guides.library.cornell.edu/copyright/publicdomain (guide of how public domain works)
https://incompetech.com, Royalty Free Game Music - Collections - royalty free music, sound effects, photo and video licensing, http://dig.ccmixter.org/ (several Creative Commons songs)
https://creativecommons.org/ (CC main site and how Creative Commons work)
https://ncs.io/ (NCS main site. WARNING: you can use these songs freely in yt, but you are very limited in games! principally commercial ones!)
Yes, amanotes made a game called “Color hop 3D”, that is pretty that. Try to do something different in the game, and perhaps, try to stop making clones and make something yours, just now, even if isnt so much. I can help anyway
